Hi
I have an almost 9yr old bunny. I believe it’s an English rabbit breed, she is quite large. She is a rescue, so don’t know exact history of her but we’ve had her since she was a couple months old.
For the last 2 to 3yrs she’s suffered with one of her eyes being constantly gunky. I’ve lost count of how many times we had her at the vets with this issue and had her tear ducts flushed to no avail.
:’m aware that it could be partly age related but it’s quite bad now, despite cleaning it at least 3 times a day it’s still gets very sticky. She’s also losing fur around her eye now so I keep putting sudocrem on it to keep the skin protected, I have been cleaning the eye with boiled cooled water or mild camomile solution, we have had a number of antibiotic eyedrops, creams etc but to no avail.
Is there anything how I could help her? The vets don’t seem to know. I just want to keep her comfortable and trouble free as much as possible at her age.
Thank you
