Tractor supply equine fresh pine pellet stall bedding

Is tractor supply equine fresh pine pellet stall bedding safe to use for rabbits (and rats)? After much research I thought it was....however I was in the area of a local feed store to see what their prices were on pine pellets. An employee (rather rudely) told me pine was horrible for rabbits. I told her I was aware pine shavings were bad but since the pellets were processed to remove all the "bad stuff"' they were ok.

Am I wrong to think it's ok to use tractor supply pine pellets for my babies? I'm second guessing myself after my encounter today.

Any ideas please

When I got my rabbits they were using pine shavings and I bought some to use. I never saw any indication that they wanted to eat them but I switched to straw which is much better in several ways: They are quite interested in digging in it, finding parts to eat, and generally keeping them entertained. I did get some pine pellets for the toilet area. It disintegrates to sawdust when wet. I can't imagine them eating it but I have seen shredded paper that might be a better choice. As to using the pellets for bedding, it seems unsuitable even if safe as they can't play with it or in it.
