Netherland dwarf female bonding

I have just adopted a 6 year female nertherland dwarf bunny. she is not neutered and obviously too old to have the op now.
I am trying to bond her with our mini lop neutered male who is 5 years old...my question is will she have any hormones left in her at this age.

The bonding is proving difficult with the aggression coming from her and not my male. They have a wire partition between them and as soon as they are nose to nose she scratches him like crazy and they end up having a boxing match. Would really appreciate any advice you may have.
