Male rabbit bonding

Hi all.
I have 2 male brother bunny’s both neutered. When they were little they were best of friends until one day they had a huge fight leading to my one bun having to go to vets.

They have been separated ever since for almost a year now because I’m so scared of putting them back together.
They have been indoors all winter in separate spaces but right next to each other.

A few months ago I tried re bonding them which for the first few weeks went well they were cleaning each other and lying with each other but then had a huge scrap again!! With lots of fur pulling.
Any tips on how to get them together?!? Or am I just wasting my time trying?!

I’m hoping to get them both back outside now the warmer days and nights are coming.
Would separate cages/runs right next to each other give them enough companionship?! I don’t want them to be lonely!!

Any advice would be great
