I found a bunny but what breed is it? Please help. Thank you.

Hi folks
I have seen this bunny in my area for a week now. He's been in by backyard twice that I know of and luckily, without my dogs getting him.

I caught him last night with the help of a neighbor and am giving him to a friend to foster. She has a bunny and knows how to take care of them. I don't. I'd love to know what breed he is.

I actually do not know if it's a he but I suspect he is. He even growled at me last night. Who knew bunnies growled? I love his little front paws. They are especially tiny. He's just a little bigger than a guinea pig. Fur is like velvet. Someone told me he looks like an American Dwarf but I looked that up and he doesn't look like any of those pictures. Please help.
