Cold ears

by Misty
(England)

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone can tell me why my rabbit has cold ears, she is eating fine (she loves food) but every time I warm her up, her body stays warm but her ear temperature just decreases every time I touch them.

No matter how many times I warm her she just keeps decreasing. I know for sure it's not GI stasis.

Thanks for any help

Hi NEW

It sounds like your bunny's ears are giving you a bit of a puzzle! While I'm not a vet, I can share some general bunny knowledge. Rabbits can sometimes have cold ears if they're feeling a bit under the weather or if they're in a cool environment. Since you mentioned she's eating well and doesn't have other symptoms, it might just be her body's way of regulating temperature. However, if you're concerned, it's always best to consult with a vet, just to be safe. They can give you the best advice for your furry friend! In the meantime, maybe a cozy bunny blanket or a warm snuggle could help keep her ears toasty. For more bunny care tips, you might want to check out https://cheerfulbunny.com/ !

Cold ears NEW
by: Mike

Cold ears can sometimes happen due to poor circulation or if she's feeling a bit chilly. As long as she's eating and acting normal, it's likely nothing serious. However, if you're concerned, it's always best to check with a vet, just to be safe.

Is she cold?
by: Shelby

What’s the temp where she is kept? Rabbits often have cold ears when they are trying to warm themselves up. Does she have any other symptoms though? Like lethargy? Or not eating? If so I would recommend seeing a vet.
